Why this program
This is Green Earth Trails' only fixed departure product. We operate it because we believe there is a real place in Kerala travel for a small, guided group journey where the logistics are handled, the pace is considered, and the price is transparent. You travel with a maximum of five other guests in a dedicated Tata Winger van with a full-time driver and local guides in Munnar and Fort Kochi.

Your vehicle
Both vehicles are owned and maintained by Green Earth Trails. The same driver is with your group from pickup on Day 1 to drop-off on Day 5.
The vehicle allocated to your group depends on size. For 1 to 3 guests we use the Kia Carens — a premium crossover SUV with tan leather seats, full air conditioning and generous luggage space. For 4 to 6 guests we use the Tata Winger Plus — a high-roof premium van with individual reclining seats and considerably more headroom and luggage capacity. Both vehicles are company-owned and maintained by Green Earth Trails. The same driver accompanies your group from Day 1 to Day 5. Full details of both vehicles are in the sidebar.
Day by day
Cochin Airport to Munnar via Abhayaranyam
Pick-up from Fort Kochi at 09:00 or Cochin International Airport at 10:30. Drive towards Munnar through Kerala's midland countryside, rubber plantations and lush valleys. En route visit Abhayaranyam Elephant Care Centre, a responsible Forest Department facility where rescued elephants and deer are cared for in natural surroundings. Continue the scenic uphill drive through the Western Ghats to Munnar. Check in at Amberdale Resort, Valley View rooms. Overnight in Munnar.
Eravikulam National Park and Lockhart Tea Factory
After breakfast, visit Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and some of the most dramatic high-altitude grassland scenery in South India. Walk through the park with the park's own guide and enjoy panoramic views across the Western Ghats. Later visit Srishti Welfare Centre, a meaningful initiative supporting differently-abled young artisans through eco-friendly craft production. In the afternoon, tour the historic Lockhart Tea Factory at Devikulam, one of the oldest functioning orthodox tea factories in Munnar. Overnight in Munnar.
Thekkady, Spice Garden and Periyar Boat Safari
Drive from Munnar to Thekkady, descending through forests, cardamom estates and mountain passes. The landscape changes dramatically as you drop from the tea country into the spice-rich Cardamom Hills. On arrival, enjoy a guided spice garden tour covering cardamom, black pepper, clove, cinnamon and vanilla. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on Periyar Lake inside Periyar National Park. The forest comes to the water's edge and elephant sightings are common in the dry season. Overnight at Greenwoods Resort, Superior rooms.
Alleppey Houseboat Cruise, Overnight and Kayaking
Drive down from the highlands to the backwaters of Alleppey. Board your premium houseboat at noon. Spend the afternoon cruising through canals, village waterways and palm-fringed lagoons, with freshly prepared Kerala meals served on board throughout the day. In the evening, take a kayaking session through the narrower backwater channels as the light fades over the water. Dinner on board. Overnight on the houseboat in Alleppey. All meals on the houseboat are included.
Fort Kochi Heritage Tour and Departure
After breakfast, disembark and drive to Fort Kochi for a guided heritage walking tour with a local English-speaking guide. Visit the Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church (the oldest European church in India), the Dutch Palace at Mattancherry, the Paradeshi Synagogue at Jew Town and the colonial lanes of Fort Kochi. The tour concludes with drop-off at Fort Kochi at 14:00 or Cochin International Airport at 16:00.

Breakfast is included at all hotel stays. Lunch and dinner are not included except on the houseboat where all meals are provided. In exceptional circumstances Green Earth Trails reserves the right to substitute with equivalent or higher category accommodation.

Common questions
What is included in the tour price?
The price includes accommodation with daily breakfast, the houseboat stay with all meals, guided visits in Munnar and Fort Kochi, a dedicated vehicle for the full journey (Kia Carens for up to 3 guests, Tata Winger for 4 to 6 guests), all entrance fees, the kayaking session, spice garden tour and Periyar boat safari. All taxes, tolls and parking fees are included. Lunch and dinner outside the houseboat are not included.
How many people travel in each group?
A maximum of 6 guests per departure. The tour operates from 1 guest upward. The Tata Winger van is allocated exclusively to your group for the full five days regardless of group size.
Can I join as a solo traveller?
Yes. Solo travellers are welcome on fixed departures. You can share a room with another same-gender solo guest at the twin sharing rate, or pay the single supplement of INR 15,000 for a private room throughout the tour.
Is the departure guaranteed?
Departures are guaranteed from 1 confirmed guest. Bookings close 14 days before the departure date. Once confirmed, the tour will run.
Can the itinerary be changed or customised?
This program is not customisable. The itinerary, accommodation and timing are fixed. If you want a fully private, customised Kerala journey built around your specific interests and dates, we offer that separately through our private tour programs.
What vehicle is used?
The vehicle depends on group size. For up to 3 guests, we use a Kia Carens — a premium 7-seater SUV with leather seats, air conditioning and generous luggage space. For 4 to 6 guests, we use the Tata Winger Plus — a high-roof premium van with individual reclining seats, air conditioning and considerably more headroom and luggage capacity than a standard SUV. Both vehicles are owned and maintained by Green Earth Trails and the same driver accompanies the group for the full five days.
How do I pay?
We accept credit and debit cards, UPI, internet banking and international wire transfer. Foreign currency accounts are available for EUR, USD, GBP, AED, CAD, SGD, NZD and AUD. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due 7 days before departure.
Why are some months priced differently?
The October to December departures are priced at INR 29,000 twin sharing because this is Kerala's peak season. Hotel rates are higher during this period. May to September departures are priced at INR 27,000 twin sharing reflecting the shoulder and monsoon season rates.
